In 2010, a soccer-loving family set out to turn their vision of bringing indoor soccer to the Champaign-Urbana area into a reality. By October 2011, their dream materialized with the launch of Soccer Planet, a facility dedicated to fostering community and a shared passion for the sport. Over the years, Soccer Planet flourished, drawing support from soccer enthusiasts across the region, including nearby towns such as Danville, Mahomet, Charleston, Monticello, St. Joe, Rantoul, Fisher, and even Indiana.
Seven years later, in 2018, Graham and Liz Berry—the visionary founders of Soccer Planet—expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support of the community. With great pride, they announced the transition of ownership to three local families: Mike Burrus, Achim von Bodman, and Mark Sikora. These families embraced Soccer Planet’s legacy while introducing fresh, exciting programs to continue its growth. Today, Soccer Planet stands as a vibrant hub where players of all ages unite to celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and a universal love for soccer.
